Truck Dispatcher

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: 50,000 – 60,000

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and dispatch trucks for pickup and delivery of freight.
• Assign loads to drivers based on availability, routes, and deadlines.
• Monitor truck locations and status using tracking systems.
• Communicate with drivers, customers, and brokers to resolve delays or issues.
• Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, load confirmations, and delivery times.
• Negotiate rates with brokers or shippers when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, hours-of-service rules, and company policies.
• Provide excellent customer service and regular updates to clients.

Requirements

• Experience: 1–2 years of truck dispatching, logistics, or transportation coordination (preferred).
• Strong understanding of US trucking regulations and freight market (if dispatching internationally, specify region).
• Proficient in dispatch software, load boards (DAT, Truckstop), and GPS tracking tools.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask and handle high-pressure situations.
• Basic computer skills (MS Excel, email, CRM).
• Flexible schedule — ability to handle calls outside standard working hours if needed.
